'Tis Something About Millie,
2010 Northern Region Obedience Team Dog and Handler ~ Special Beginners

Nicole Fensom from K9Krazy helps me enormously with training both dogs for competition. Good fun, hot coffee, and loads of laughs... that's my idea of an enjoyable dog training session:

Dannie Cameron-Jefferies

I compete in Obedience Champ shows everywhere in the North Island from Whangarei to Wellington, most weekends will find me at a dog show somewhere. I currently compete with Millie, (my husband’s three-year old border collie), and I have Radar, another BC who is still learning and not ready to compete yet.

'Tis Something About Millie (Millie)

Millie and I have been working together as an obedience team since February 2010. She is actually my husbands’ agility dog, and I borrowed her one weekend after I discovered I was still eligible for Special Beginners level in competition. What I love most about Millie is her attitude, it doesn’t matter to her if she is walking and sitting while glued to my leg, or running at full speed around an agility course, she always tries so hard and is happy from tip to tail.

In 2010 I was selected to represent the Northern Region Team at the National Dog Training Assembly. This was, without a doubt the greatest achievement in my dog training so far. The NDTA was held at Labour weekend, and Millie and I placed second in our grade, helping to secure the NZ Trophy for the Northern Region Team.

Millie is also an agility dog,  and competed at the NDTA with my husband Graeme. She did so well at both obedience and agility she was awarded the Jalain Deal Me In Trophy for highest combined points in both codes at the NDTA.

Jalain Starfleet on My Radar (Radar)

Radar is my new obedience pup, his mum Flya is an obedience champion (ObCh Jalain High Flya CDX JDX TCQ) and his dad Wizz is an obedience grand champion with working trials qualifications (ObGrCh Kaeanda Orb of Wisdom CDXG UDX WDX).

Radar is currently just a puppy, and working on a little bit of everything. I expect to have him competing around the middle of 2012, but that's just a guess. There's no rush, he will be ready when he is ready... and judging from the work I have seen already... when he is ready, he will be fantastic. He really is a super little dog.
